Denise Daniels is a Professor of Management at Seattle Pacific University. She earned a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the University of Washington. Denise is the co-Principal Investigator on a $1.5M research project funded by the Lilly Endowment, examining how Christians in the United States understand and engage their faith at work. She serves on the corporate board of a FinTech company and on the board of two non-profit organizations.

On this episode, we’re joined by JoAnn Flett. JoAnn Flett is a Senior Lecturer in Management and directs the MBA in Social Impact at Eastern University. Ms. Flett’s research focuses on the role of business in society. She is interested in business that combines social mission and market activities to bring about societal change for the world’s most pressing needs. Thanks to the fields of Social Entrepreneurship, and the Certified B-Corp Movement, there is now a whole body of research exploring how business is being used to address societal problems. Ms. Flett was recently awarded a 2019-2020 Fulbright Scholarship to the University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago for teaching and developing social entrepreneurial capacity.

Ms. Flett serves on the board of several high impact social organizations that include: Accord Network (100+ International Development Agencies); Capital of Good (performance philanthropy); Broad Street Ministry (practicing radical hospitality to vulnerable Philadelphians). JoAnn also serves on three advisory boards for Everence Financial-Philadelphia; Partners Worldwide, NCB Trinidad and Tobago; and Initiate Australia.

JoAnn is married to Eric Flett (celebrating their 29th wedding anniversary this year) and the couple has two sons, Miles (23) and Elliot (19). Eric teaches theology at Eastern University.

Lane was educated at the United States Air Force Academy, University of Redlands, University of Colorado, and Rollins College where he received his Doctorate in Business Administration. He currently serves as an Associate Professor of Management at Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Prior to joining PBA, Lane spent 30 years in the defense and aerospace sector, most recently serving as an executive business leader at Harris Corporation.

He’s the author of the new book, The Disquieted Soul: Paths of Discovery and Deliverance.

Lane has been an active member in congregations within the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) since 1987. During that period, he taught over 50 courses in the areas of leadership, parenting, theology, apologetics, church history, and financial management.

She is now the Director of the Talbot Center for Faith, Work & Economics at the Talbot School of Theology at Biola University and an Ethics and Leadership Professor in the Crowell School of Business at Biola University.  She teaches in both the Business undergraduate program and in the MBA program.  She also serves as an MBA mentor.

Bill is a researcher and leadership consultant providing a variety of services across industries, centered on culture change, leadership training, team building, and visioning. He serves as adjunct professor for Anderson University’s MBA program, teaching Leadership and Ethics. William holds a PhD from Clemson University and is the author of various leadership and ethics-related articles, including those published by the Academy of Management, the British Journal of Healthcare Management, the Journal of Business Ethics and Organization Studies, as well as others. A retired Army Officer, he possesses over 35 years of leadership experience in various organizations and civic groups.
